Colourful, bright stickers will help little paddlers enjoy swimming and teach them the pool isn't a scary place.

Greerton Aquatic and Leisure Centre has lots of new little additions to its learners' pool – in the form of cute, bright stickers.

The decals, stuck to the floor of the learners' pool, include pictures of crabs, ducks, seals, jandals, fish and starfish.

The pools re-opened its doors this week after being closed for scheduled maintenance, which included re-painting of pools and surrounds and the inclusion of some extras, which are set to especially please parents of young children.

Improvements include heating the learners' pool and the changing rooms, and increasing the number of baby changing tables, and wide seating has now been added alongside the learners' pool.

'Our next challenge is to address how we can effectively keep the outdoor wind from circulating indoors every time the front door opens,” says Bay Venues programmes and venues manager Tina Harris-Ririnui.
