The Force will be strong within Tauranga Library these school holidays.

On October 10, the library will celebrate Star Wars Reads Day by opening its own Jedi Academy. Eager young Padawans (Jedi in training) are invited to dress up and come (with a parent/caregiver) to Tauranga Library at 6pm for a Star Wars party.

'We'll have lots of fun, Star Wars-related activities” says Lauren Jones, Children's and Teenagers' Librarian.

'Kids can take part in light sabre training, pod racing, a scavenger hunt and other activities. Everyone will receive Star Wars snacks and a completion certificate."

The Star Wars Party is free to attend, but registration will be essential. Families can reserve places by phoning 07 577 7177, or emailing library@tauranga.govt.nz
